
Dr. Katie Crockett PhD
Professor USask School of Rehabilitation Science & SPHERU Faculty ResearcherDr. Katie Crockett is a professor at the School of Rehabilitation Science, University of Saskatchewan, member of the Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health (CCRAH), and physiotherapy clinician with over 14 years of clinical experience in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation centre. With both professional and personal lived experience in rural and remote communities across the prairie provinces, she has served over 10 rural/remote communities across Saskatchewan, shaping her understanding of the unique challenges in accessing care across various communities. Her research program integrates clinical insight, research expertise, and mentorship into both teaching and scholarship with a commitment to improving equitable access to rehabilitation care across Saskatchewan and beyond. Her teaching focuses on physiotherapy assessment and treatment, including communication and compassion in healthcare and musculoskeletal assessment and treatment skills. She is a strong advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration and elevating patient voices in her research, recognizing that meaningful progress in improving access to care requires collective expertise and perspectives of diverse disciplines working together.
